Jason's text

"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
- Proverbs 4:20-23

-Attention leads to desire
-The ear and eye mentioned here are spiritual
-God's Word is life and health
-Guard your heart
-Out of your heart are the issues, or boundaries, of life
-Out of the heart a man speaks

Step one

- If you are trying to be a good person, but can't seem to defeat your habits... Why not get born again? How can a sinner change his life and then get saved? That's what most people think ought to happen. Like, you have to straighten up your ways to go into church... that's crazy... and totally contrary to the gospel. Bring the sick, bring the thief, bring the depressed, bring the broke and poor, bring the criminal, bring the hurting. Let God change them. It's hard to change your ways without changing your nature. A sinner will sin, just like a fish will swim... that is his nature. If you follow the verse below, God will recreate your spirit. You will have a new nature. He'll forget your past. You will be a new creation, like a new baby with no past. Period. You have to beleive it in your heart before you can beleive it in your mind.

"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." - Romans 10:8-13

Freedom

**************************************************
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope."
- Jeremiah 29:11

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."
- 3 John 1:2

Too many people see Christianity as a restrictive lifestyle or just another set of laws. In reality, Christianity is all about freedom... denouncing bondage. Jesus came that we would have life and have it more abundantly, not bringing us into bondage but releasing us from our bondage. He wants you to prosper... he wants to give you a future... he wants you to have peace... he wants you to sleep well at night and he wants to give, give, give into your life! Bondage-Go. Whom the Son set's free is free indeed!

Knowing God

"Thank you for telling me God's name because God has touched me so many times before, and now I know God's name". That came from Helen Keller. Deaf, dumb & blind. She is the perfect example of God interacting in man's spirit, his "inner man". Attend to God's Word today and listen when he speaks to you. Look for direction from the inside instead of the circumstances around you. If you're born again, the Greater One is in you.

"Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world"

The nature of our Father

Why did Jesus lay down his life and then rise again? There are many things that were accomplished, and every single one of those things were for us. Love is the subject. He Loves us as much now as he did then. In fact, he has always Loved us. He has always made a way for us to be with him. God is Love, that is his nature. Love isn't something he does, it's who he is. By essence, he is Love. The greatest thing is that has never changed. God has many characteristics, but every one of them is founded in Love. He is our Father. So, would a Father hurt his children? Would he cause them misery? Not if he is a good Father! Heck, he invented parents! I know that we are disciplined, but would your parents teach you a lesson with such things as poverty or sickness? Me personally, I have learned more about God's Love through my natural father than anywhere else. God's word says that if your natural parents know how to bless their children, how much more does your heavenly Father know how to give good gifts to them that love him? (Gift's are free. When you receive a gift, you don't pay the one who gave it.) There is nothing that you have need of that God won't give you when you ask. Nothing wavering. Believing that what he promised he will also do. Consider it done. If I asked my natural father for $100, I know that he will give it to me when he can. I don't need to go and ask him again. My mind is at rest when I ask because I know that he loves me and will give me anything that he has to help me. How much more can he that created the universe take care of your needs? "I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
